Last Friday at the NMMU south campus, there was an event planned by PR students. The theme set was "the devil wears Prada". This event was to launch the Profile society. Tickets were sold at twenty rand per person.
This was a very well planned right from the food to the entertainment. Profile society is headed by PR students they normally go around hijacking other society events,they attend most school events to be there and do their deed,but this year Profile society decided to have a proper lunch,one of their speakers said on the night.
Their event was very impressing,they had a hall turned into a beautiful room that was decorated according to the theme,it was red and white accompanied by great hospitality and dazzling guests.
At the door there were ushers and in the room alert waitresses, I could feel i was at a proper event. All dresses in black were the students,it was such a great experience to see fellow students put to practise all the theory they had been taught. For twenty rand the guests received a proper meal and delicious dessert. While waiting for the event to start the guests were served with snacks and juice.NMMU can be proud and feel free to release prepared PR students into the corporate world.
The entertainment was on point and impressingly the performing artists were local students,whom are not yet famous but hopefully their talents will be recognised. The Profile society made it clear that this society is not only for PR students it is for everyone whom is interested. Their Guest speaker was on point her speech was directed at students and her impressing achievements make one realise that yes University is about fun but one has to graduate and do bigger things.
They had VIP guests by the likes of Adeline Mbinjana (guest speaker),Yonela Ben-Mazwi (miss freshette) and the performing studenta etc.
The well planed night ended in a dancing crowd that were shaking hand and making new friends,exactly what the society stand for.
